This April: Buena Park Reads Together!

This April, the Library will be holding its third annual community wide event
BUENA PARK READS TOGETHER

This year’s selection is When the Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka. Told from five different points of view, it is a novel chronicling the internment experiences of a Japanese American family during World War II.

This program is designed to get the entire community reading and discussing the same book.  It is our hope that the community will gain an understanding of this event from our nation’s history, and relate it to our present lives by considering our treatment of and compassion towards the “other” in our society.
