Explore China with the Buena Park Library Travel Club!

Do you dream of traveling the world?  Join the Buena Park Library’s Travel Club and guest presenter Susan Schlaeger as we explore beautiful and fascinating travel destinations in China.  Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Hangzhou, and the Great Wall will be a few of the stops on this trip.
A selection of material in several formats will be available for checkout, including travel guides, histories and fiction.  Light refreshments will be served prior to the program which will be held in the Library Board Room, located on the second floor.

The Chinese year 4711 begins on February 10, 2013.  The Lunar New Year is observed on the second new moon after the winter solstice and celebrations last for 15 days. According to the Encyclopedia of Holidays and Celebrations: a Country-by-Country Guide (which is located in the Library’s Reference Collection), Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays of the year, stressing the importance of family.  It is a time of visiting with family and friends.
